My many years working in recording studios on hundreds of film and television scores has given me an intimate knowledge of the score production process from a composer's point of view. Subsequently working on many diverse projects as a music editor allow me to fit seamlessly into new and existing post-production workflows. From initial temp music, through the writing and revision stages, to scoring, mixing and finally dub and delivery, I bring experience, creativity and technical know-how to any score.
Early work as a music editor included Sky Atlantic's Yonderland, and commercial track placement edits for Channel 4's Fresh Meat and The End of the F***ing World. After going freelance in 2020 I’ve been music editor on shows for ITV, Sky, NBC-Universal and Disney, including two series of the highly successful Funny Woman starring Gemma Arterton and the Disney / AMC / Amazon sci-fi adventure Nautilus scored by Nainita Desai.
The music editor is the crucial link between the music department and the other sound departments in the post-production process. I act as the music department’s liaison to the editor, the score recording and mixing engineers and the sound mix team, ensuring everything goes smoothly and finding collaborative and creative solutions to any problems.
Whether you’re a post-production supervisor or a composer, in the edit, scoring or re-recording phase, and whether you need me for a few days or long-term, please get in touch to find out how I can help to realise your score.
As an assistant engineer at Air-Edel Recording Studios, I worked on hundreds of film scores for A-List composers such as John Powell, Dario Marianelli, and Javier Navaretti.
As an engineer I recorded and mixed for the likes of Patrick Doyle and Howard Shore, and on high profile TV shows Lady Chatterley's Lover (BBC), and Secret Bridesmaids’ Business (Seven Network), commercials for O2 and the film score for Berlinale Crystal Bear winner Butterfly Kisses (Nathan Klein).
During my early years as an assistant I had the pleasure to work with household names such as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Biffy Clyro, Graham Coxon and Michael Kiwanuka.
As an engineer I have worked with Katy Perry, Gregory Porter and Vula Melinga, and for each of the big three labels; Universal, Warner and Sony.
I mainly work in Pro Tools with a wide variety of third party plugins, and make extensive use of RX and Melodyne to get the most out of recordings. I also work in Logic Pro with the stock plugins so that clients can open the session and make tweaks if necessary further down the line.
