My career in audio began playing in bands as a teenager around the Sheffield and South Yorkshire area. After finding myself being the most inclined to make a recording to send out for promos and sell at gigs, I became drawn to the engineering and production side of things, and was soon recording demos for local bands and solo artists. I completed a degree in Music Technology at Staffordshire University and moved to London to pursue a career in the music industry.
After working as a dogsbody at a few London studios, I became an assistant engineer at Air-Edel Recording Studios in central London where I stayed for twelve years, progressing to engineer and finally studio manager. Here I developed skills in both music and dialogue.
I became a freelance engineer in 2020 and continued to work in and around London with a greater focus on editing as well as continuing to record. I moved from London to California in late 2024, and my status as both a British citizen and a US permanent resident gives me the ability to work legally in the UK and the USA.
I work in both Pro Tools and Logic. I have excellent knowledge of iZotope RX for audio cleanup and repair, and Melodyne for vocal tuning.
